THE FRIENDSHIP RUN
Run together.
Grow together.
For joy. For health.
Above all, for being together.
The Friendship Run is a community cross-country event created by TRIADA to bring children, adults and families together through sport.
It is a competition — but winning is not its ultimate purpose.
Some will run faster. Some will reach the podium. Some will discover that they can go further than they thought.
But our greatest victory is something else:
to enjoy being together, to encourage one another, to celebrate someone else's success and to reach the finish line as a community.
More than a race
The idea behind the Friendship Run is simple:
Sport brings people together.
It teaches us to make an effort, to persevere when things become difficult and to discover that we are capable of more than we imagined.
But it also teaches us to look around.
To encourage the person running beside us.
To rejoice when someone else succeeds.
To compete without becoming adversaries.
To take care of one another.
For us, the joy of being together matters more than the finishing order.
That is the spirit of the Friendship Run.
It started with our children
The Friendship Run did not begin as a large sporting project.
Its story grew naturally from years spent working with children and observing how much sport can contribute to their development.
We saw children become stronger, more confident and more willing to make an effort.
We saw something else as well: a family's attitude towards sport shapes a child's attitude towards sport.
When children see their parents running, training, persevering and enjoying movement, sport becomes more than an activity scheduled once a week.
It becomes part of life.
And so an idea gradually emerged:
What if we ran together?
Children and parents.
Young and old.
Experienced athletes and first-time runners.
Not only to compete, but to encourage one another and experience the joy of sport as a community.
That idea became the Friendship Run.

Where it all began
On 9 May 2026, we organised the first edition of the Friendship Run.
What began as a local initiative became a day filled with movement, encouragement and genuine joy.
Children took their places at the starting line with excitement.
Parents encouraged them.
Friends cheered for one another.
The youngest participants discovered the joy of taking part, while others challenged themselves to run faster and further.
There were winners. There were medals. There were podiums.
But the most important thing we saw that day could not be measured with a stopwatch.
People were happy to be together. And that was exactly what we had hoped for.
Every child can cross a finish line
One of the most important purposes of the Friendship Run is to help children discover the joy of effort.
Not every child needs to become an athlete.
But every child can learn to try.
To prepare.
To continue when something becomes difficult.
To lose without giving up.
To win without looking down on others.
To discover what their own body can do.
And eventually, to cross a finish line they once thought was far away.
Sport helps develop the will.
This is why we believe sport should not be an occasional activity, but an important part of the formation of a human being.
Competition without losing each other
We believe healthy competition has something valuable to teach us.
There will always be someone faster.
Someone stronger.
Someone who finishes first.
And there is nothing wrong with wanting to do our best.
But the Friendship Run also invites us to learn something more difficult:
to be genuinely happy when someone else succeeds.
To compete while remaining friends.
To strive for the podium while still helping someone who falls.
To cross the finish line without forgetting the people running beside us.
Because the person next to us is never simply an opponent.
For the whole family
The Friendship Run is not only about children.
We want children to see adults moving too.
Parents running.
Families preparing together.
Adults accepting challenges.
Different generations encouraging one another.
Because one of the most powerful ways to teach children that movement matters is simply to let them see that it matters to us too.
The Friendship Run is therefore an invitation to the whole family:
Come and move with us.
The next Friendship Run: 31 October 2026
The first edition showed us that this idea deserves to grow.
Now we want to take the next step.
We want to welcome more children. More families. More runners.
More people from our local community.
And we want to create an event that remains warm and personal while becoming better organised, better equipped and accessible to a wider audience.
Participation in the Friendship Run is free.
We want every child, every family and every person who wishes to run with us to be able to take part, without cost being a barrier. And we want to keep it that way.
This is why the support of our partners matters.
With the help of sponsors, we can keep participation free while providing everything needed for a well-organised event — and offer meaningful prizes to celebrate the effort and achievements of our winners.
Our ambition is not simply to create a bigger race.
We want to build a lasting community tradition around sport, health and togetherness — open to everyone and made possible by the people and organisations who choose to support it.
Help us make it possible
BECOME A FRIENDSHIP RUN PARTNER
The Friendship Run is organised by TRIADA ASBL with the involvement of our community, volunteers and partners.
As the event grows, we are looking for organisations and companies that share our belief in: children's wellbeing, healthy lifestyles, movement, family and community.
Partnership can take many forms.
Financial support can help us professionally organise and develop the event.
Products and healthy refreshments can support participants on race day.
Sports equipment can help children discover the joy of movement.
Prizes can recognise effort and achievement.
Professional services, logistics and materials can help us create a safe and welcoming event.
Every partnership contributes directly to making the Friendship Run possible.
A partnership people can experience
We want our partners to be more than logos on a poster.
We want them to become part of the event.
A company supporting the Friendship Run becomes associated with an experience that families can see, feel and remember:
children moving, parents participating, people encouraging one another and a community spending a memorable day together.
Depending on the partnership, sponsors can be recognised through event communication, digital channels, on-site visibility and activities created together with TRIADA.
We are open to building partnerships that are meaningful for both the event and the organisations supporting it.
Support the Friendship Run
Can't join us this time? You can still be part of it.
Not everyone can be at the starting line.
But you can still help make the Friendship Run possible.
Your donation helps us create a safe, joyful and welcoming event for children, families and our wider community — and allows this initiative to continue and grow.
Whether large or small, every contribution matters.
Because the Friendship Run is built not only by those who run, but also by those who choose to support them.
